16.05.12 Tulpi well received at Floriade

On the site of Floriade in Venlo several Tulpi’s are placed as seating area for the many visitors. The Tulpi’s draw a lot of attention and are very well received by guests. The Floriade is open until October 7. Up.

08.05.12 Live demonstration of VP MicroLab

The VP MicroLab of Virtual Proteins is a virtual reality viewing device which simulates and visualizes three-dimensional bio-structures —such as proteins, antibodies and viruses— and may be used for preoperative planning. This allows surgeons daily use of the VP MicroLab during patient consultations with medical staff and other medical specialists. During the TechCafé in Diepenbeek (BE) on May 16, the by GBO designed VP MicroLab will be demonstrated live. Visitors are also invited to bring their own patient data and come and see them in 3D. 30.03.12 New Seal Inspector of DVC introduced at CFIA

On behalf of DVC we designed and developed the plastic housing for the new seal inspector. The machine is equipped with advanced image processing software, a unique transport and a high resolution camera which result in perfect image recordings. By using a Fibre Tech coating rather than stainless steel, the housing can be vacuum formed. The tooling and production of the covers is provided by Greijn Form Technics from Reuver. The process from design to time to market took 15 weeks. Up.

29.03.12 Eric Dumortier with 5×5 Design

Eric Dumortier is selected as 1 of 5 designers for the prestigious 5×5 project5 (Dutch only) of Design-region Kortrijk. Together with his GBO team, an innovative product will be designed for BMINUS from Kortrijk (Dutch only), a manufacturer of high quality architectural solutions.

The official launch was given of the 5×5 program in which a designer is linked to a company. The goal? Designing a new product or service and market it from a creative and economic cross-pollination. The first results of the collaboration will be presented on INTERIEUR KORTRIJK 2012.

05.03.12 Eating soup with a biopolymer

The Biotulip was designed during a Design Pressure Cooker (DPC) of Syntens. The purpose of the DPC was to develop a particular disposable for an event, like the Floriade. Commisioner Haval was so pleased with the design that Erwin van Limpt, director of the Gemert based company, ordered a mould immediately. The polymer Synterra®, developed by Synbra Technology from Etten-Leur, forms the basis of the Biotulip.

The Biotulip is a joint development of three NB Partners. The product is on display at the Nation Branding & Investment Expo at the Exhibition Centre in Eindhoven (6-8 March). The Biotulip can be found on the booth of NB (’North-Brabant’ marketing campaign). read more… Up.

22.02.12 Kroonring conquers Netherlands

GBO PROJECTS developed and manufactured the Kroonring (Crown Ring, Dutch only). The ring has proven to be successful in Leerdam, Capelle aan den IJssel and 14 other Dutch cities. The plastic ring that is awarded with 2 innovation awards offers a complete solution for the collection of Plastic Heroes (Dutch only) garbage programme and brings the finishing touch to plastic collection of your city.

21.02.12 New product at Facility fair 2012

The Dynamic Compactus was commissioned by Bruynzeel Storage Systems. It is the result of a collaboration between GBO DESIGN, GBO PROJECTS, Bruynzeel Storage Systems and Neways. GBO DESIGN is responsible for the design, engineering and 3D printing, GBO PROJECTS for the tooling, manufacturing and logistics. In the realization phase Neways worked closely with GBO PROJECTS. The product was launched on the Facility fair 2012 (Dutch only) in Den Bosch.  Up.

15.02.12 Two innovations by GBO at the VSK

At the biennial exhibition for the installation branche, the VSK, two ‘GBO-products’ were displayed.
Geesa presented the Haiku collection, a collection of accessories mainly for bathroom purposes. The design of the collection is done by Marcel Wanders, the development is done by GBO in close cooperation with Geesa.
For Spirotech the SpiroTrap MB3 was developed. A dirt separator for heating systems with unique magnetic field reinforcing technology.

13.02.12 ‘Made in Brainport’ success in Munich

The exhibition ‘Made in Brainport’ formed a substantial part of the Munich Creative Business Week (MCBW), which was held for the first time from February 7 to 12 in Munich. The exhibition travels in a constantly changing composition around the world and was previously a big success at the Istanbul Design Week and the Dutch Design Week in Eindhoven. The exhibition includes several products by GBO the Tulpi, Kroonring, Dagravit dispenser and TwistDock.

10.02.12 Durable products premiered at Frankfurt Paper World

At the Paperworld Fair in Frankfurt, the new trolley and Varicolor of Durable were introduced. Both products were designed and engineered by GBO DESIGN.

The trolley has a contemporary design and is constructed of a limited number of modular components. By clever use of the ‘building blocks’, the complete range of Durable trolleys was replaced.
The Varicolor, a drawer box, is available with optionally five or ten drawers that are executed in five vivid colors. These colors are only visible when the drawers are open - with the box closed, the drawers fit perfectly in a quiet office environment, while subtly colored lines help you to organize.
